Highlights of the 2007 NATMA Annual Convention and Post-Meeting Tour
Dear NATMA members,
Greetings! The first six months of the 2007 was a busy time for NATMA. This is a brief summary.
1. Guatemala Medical Mission (2/9/07-2/17/07): This is the highest participation in the NATMA history with 64 team members took part in this mission. We saw 3800 patients in three days. We also had a chance to learn about the Maya culture. We welcome members for the future participation.
2. “Taiwan for WHO” Panel Discussion (4/7/07-4/8/07): There were three NATMA Panel Discussion “Taiwan for WHO” at San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles.
NATMA 2007 coming activities:
1. WHO Tour: 5/12 – 5/24, 38 people will be going to Geneva to support Taiwan’s join for WHO. This will be followed by tour in Italy.
2. NATMA 2007 Annual Convention (6/29 to 7/1) at the Pacific Palm Conference Resort, City of Industry, California. Post-meeting tour will be followed. This year’s program includes CME program, WHO & International Medical Mission Seminar, and Art Exhibition. 3. Taiwan-America Medical Exchange Visiting Tour: Dates are set from Nov 3 to Nov 11, further notice will be given.
4. Young Taiwanese American Physician Visiting Program to Taiwan will be continued this year, further notice will be given.
5. The NATMA Foundation will be establishing Scholarship for Medical and Dental Students.
6. Membership Expansion: NATMA Bylaw will be amended to accommodate more membership.
