Levels of Membership (from NATMA Bylaws)

The membership shall consist of three classes:

(1) Active members shall consist of Taiwanese or Taiwanese North American physicians, dentists, and other health professionals with graduate degrees and registered nurses who are licensed to practice in North America, either in full practice or in training, and those who are active in research and/or teaching in North America. Active members who have paid their current annual fees shall have full voting privileges and the right to be elected and serve as officers.

(2) Associate members shall be the Taiwanese or Taiwanese North American physicians, dentist and other health professionals with graduate degrees who are not licensed to practice in North America.

(3) House staff/Student members shall be Taiwanese or Taiwanese-North Americans who are medical, dental, or other health professional house staff/students in North America.

(4) Honorary members shall consist of Non-North American Taiwanese physicians, dentists, and other health professionals who have performed special services either in Taiwan or elsewhere, deserving our recognitions. Each candidate shall be recommended by at least two members of the Board of Directors or the Executive Council, and be confirmed by an unanimous vote of the Board of Directors or two-thirds of the members voting by mail ballot. Furthermore, honorary membership may be stripped if the Board of Directors, at any time thereafter, unanimously determines that he or she is unfit for such membership.
